Oprah Winfrey is expected to announce today on her show that she will shutter her syndicated talker after its 25th season winds down in 2011. Winfrey is expected to take an active role with the rollout. "She will be a daily presence [on the network] in some capacity," said one executive familiar with the plans.

Two top programming executives have left OWN to pursue new ventures. Maria Grasso and Nina Wass exited in the past few weeks, according to a spokeswoman for the yet-to-launch lifestyle network which is jointly owned by Discovery Communications and Oprah Winfrey. The changes follow the appointment of Jamila Hunter, who was named head of programming for the Burbank-based company in June and came from NBC.
